Gothic Nightclub Tee
Rooted in the underground energy of 1980s Leeds, the Phono Tee draws inspiration from the raw, industrial edge of the city’s gothic club scene — places like The Phono and Le Phonographique, where post-punk youth redefined identity through sound and style.
This piece reimagines archive photos and DIY club flyers into a distorted graphic collage, screen printed by hand to preserve that authenticity. The fragmented typography and high-contrast print echo the anarchic visuals of the time — a nod to the cut-and-paste aesthetic born from photocopiers, zines, and the smoke-filled basements of northern nightlife.
